Soy is not food

Sorry for my absence, I find it too hard to blog from my smart phone and was without a laptop for some time.

Since I've come to the realization that soy is not food, and actually a poison, I have been ferreting it out of every nook and cranny in our diets and each time I think we are soy-free, it pops up and surprises me! First out was the soy milk. Second, any of the vegetarian prepackaged foods--the veggie burgers, the not-dogs, etc. That's when I thought we were over the whole soy thing. However, I also started reading labels--labels I had read before but in light of my new found information. And DAMN, there is soybean oil in EVERYTHING! Out with the protein bars I enjoyed prior to yoga class. Good bye flavored coffee creamers. I even had to throw out my vitamins because they contained soy!!!

Then the earth shattering discovery: soya lecithin is in all chocolate.

Once the panic of that discovery faded I started trying to figure out if lecithin derived from soy had any of the harmful effects we are trying to avoid.

The three concerns with soy are as follows: 1. the lectins as mentioned in a previous post 2. the phytates also mentioned previously and 3. the phytoestrogens. Researching exactly what lecithin is, it's a phospholipid or a fat molecule, clearly means it's not phytic acid or a protein called a lectin. Researching what the phytoestrogens are in soy I discovered it's mainly isoflavones and these, too, are not phospholipids. So my research shows that the soya lecithin in chocolate is not a big concern. Not as big as a concern as the sugar and carbs in the chocolate :)

On another related note, I am amazed that with my own research and my seeking out the help of two different doctors that no one realized that damn near the entirety of my hormonal problems were due to the consumption of soy. I had, during the course of trying to fix the problem, tried eliminating soy. However, I can see now that all I eliminated was the soy milk, but not any of the other myriad of sources big and small.

And since you may wonder why soy is not food or how it is actually poison I've included a link full of all the resources and scientific studies I needed to see before I was convinced that I had been snowed by the soy industry:
